Tonight you get a meme, because my daughter was sent home from school with a temp of 104 and I am kind of focusing on that right now. Poor pumpkin. She’s never sick but boy when she decides to get sick she does it up right. I tried to give her some pedialyte before bed but she flung the bottle clear across the living room and screamed NO in pure Charlotte fashion so I guess she’s not all that sick. I’m anticipating a long night ahead of me and Grey’s is a repeat, so I just might get some sleep while the getting is good. Anyway! I’m sure she’ll be fine tomorrow, so here’s your meme. Nothing says fun on a Friday like a baby with a temperature of 105. Now that’s impressive. I thought she was catching the norovirus that’s been going around, but she definitely isn’t. I took her to the pediatrician today who did bloodwork, which came out normal, and I’m taking her back tomorrow for a once-over. But boy, is she cranky. I spent most of the day just rocking her and holding her while we watched Sesame Street. I know she’s really sick when she tolerates being held for more than 30 seconds at a time. And then we watched General Hospital together but I guess that is neither here nor there. Read the rest of this entry »

I honestly don’t have much to report out of this weekend, due to spending 99% of it in the house with Typhoid Mary. Our big outing on Saturday was to the pediatrician’s office, where Charlotte was able to see her regular doctor. Her temperature was much lower, and her spirits were better, so he sent us packing after some bloodwork with orders to lay low and keep an eye on her. He weighed and measured her since she’s just turned 11 months. She’s 20.5 lbs and 30 inches long, which places her in the 48th percentile for weight and the 90th for height. I’ll be anxious to see where she is next month on her birthday. Read the rest of this entry »

I have an incredibly bad headache today. I woke up with it and I think it is residual stress letting itself out of my body. Yesterday, I officially finished with my HUGE project at work that sucked the life out of me for most of the fall. I still have a bunch of little other projects that are ongoing, but the major fall initiative is OVER and no more overnight travel until the end of January, which I am pretty psyched about. Also, my husband came home from his work travel late last night, and I think I’m just burnt out. The wedding is over, travel is done, my project is complete, and now I am about to collapse in exhaustion. Read the rest of this entry »

Since I seem to be having extreme difficulty focusing on the tasks at hand (i.e. work), I will fill you in on randomness chez moi.

As I said earlier, I went grocery shopping on Monday afternoon. I bought a bunch of bananas, among other various fruits and vegetables. I am picky about my produce (shocking), and so after careful consideration, I purchased a bunch of ripe, yellow bananas. There were 8 in the bunch, which I placed into our cabinet upon arrival at home. Read the rest of this entry »

All I have to say is TGIF. Last night, I ended up going to my boss’s house for our program unit’s holiday xmas party. The agency party is next week, in one of the conference rooms. Last night was smaller and more festive. So festive, in fact, that I ended up spilling red wine onto her sofa. Her WHITE sofa. Nice going, E, I thought. It was really a small spill so I thought ok, well, no big deal - but as I was leaving with my friend who was driving me home (because not surprisingly I forgot that the party was last night and took the SUBWAY…nice going again, E.) the party was in full swing and everyone was hooping it up, that I didn’t get a chance to tell her about the spill. So, this morning, I awkwardly was like trying to tell her about the spill and thank god she was like, I cannot believe you are worried about this! So luckily, everything was cool. I seem to be developing social awkwardness in my advanced age! Ugh! Read the rest of this entry »

Last night, I headed home from work the long way, to pick up a video in Arlington. I had noticed a few movies being released yesterday that piqued my interest, so I stopped off and rented both Garden State and Anchorman. My husband opted for the funny movie, so we watched Anchorman. I don’t know if my sense of humor is changing, but honestly, it sucked. It had maybe 3 or 4 lines that made us laugh, but otherwise I just found it lame. I’m hoping for better things with Garden State, which I hope to watch tomorrow or Friday. I love rental places with long rental periods - I don’t have to return these until Sunday night! Read the rest of this entry »
