Now where have I left off? Oh yes, procrastination junction, how I know thee well. I’m still not finished with my report, but tomorrow’s my deadline so there you go. Mr. P will take Charlotte to school tomorrow while I drop off my car to get the brakes done. I will be house-bound for most of the day with no vehicle, so finish my report I will. I basically have no choice and the house is squeaky clean. I’m also waiting for a fax which I need in order to make further progress so here we are, blogging.
As an aside, I just have to mention that I am DISGUSTED with the dust, dirt and other assorted crap that comes out of my rugs every time I vacuum them - we have the Dyson that allows you to actually see what you’ve vacuumed up and I think I was better off not knowing.
My daughter is currently talking to herself up in her crib. She’s been taking a full two hour nap in the morning, and then not napping at all in the afternoon. She’ll hang out in her crib for an hour though with no complaint. Just when I think she’s fallen asleep, she’ll bust out with a long string of quiet syllables, usually ending with “Elmo.”
One of my friends came over for a play date earlier today with her twin girls who are almost turning three. There were baby girls EVERYWHERE. Now that I’ve got the playroom all set up, we’ve been having a ball. The gals played and the grown up gals gabbed about work, husbands, and our messy houses. I even made us all grilled cheese for lunch. I think Charlotte would eat a grilled cheese sandwich all three meals everyday if I let her.
Not much else has been going on here, I’m basically getting ready to start my new job on Monday and I’m psyched about that. It’s been a long time since I’ve worked with teachers and students and I pretty much can’t wait. The way my hours work out, I’m going to be able to pick up Charlotte sometime around 2:30pm on the three days a week that she’s in school, which is also fabulous. My mom is going to be here at home with her the other two days, and I’m really happy that’s working out, too. I’m hoping that once the weather warms up a bit we’ll be able to pick up our daily afternoon walks and trips to the swings.
I should probably go upstairs and round up the dry cleaning. It has also been a long time since I’ve worn clothes that haven’t been through the washer/dryer about a million times. Add that to the list of weekly errands, I guess. I want to finish up some errands this afternoon so I don’t have to go out later on tonight.
Ok - I’m off. We have a super fun weekend planned, but I am sure I’ll be looking to procrastinate a bit more tomorrow, so I’ll have to fill you in later!
