Due to the ridiculous amounts of snow yesterday, I took the day off and stayed home. Well, I stayed home in the morning. Then around 9, we ventured out to dig out our cars. Love on-street parking in the city. My car was seriously plowed in, so I shoveled the snow around it, and yes, some of it ended up back in the street. Luckily, my car has all wheel drive, so with minimal effort I drove right out. Having the far superior car won me the pleasure of being the one who went out to get coffee and bagels, while my husband continued to shovel out and around his car.

I ventured out to the Burlington Mall in the afternoon. I had received a teapot from my registry that had broken, and the folks at Crate and Barrel were happy to replace it. The mall was seriously crowded, so my stay was short - I went over to Barnes and Noble but quickly got bored, and left. Then I went grocery shopping and went home. I’m trying out a few new recipes and I’ve been pretty happy so far.

This morning, work is a ghost town. I would say well over 50% of our office is on vacation this week, so I’m not feeling especially productive, but I am getting a bit done while it is quiet. The gods shone down upon me and I now possess a parking pass for the garage next door - after 7 long months on the waiting list and taking the MBTA I can now drive to and from work. Perfect timing, too, because the last week or 2 walking home in the evenings from the T have been rather brutal.

I am declaring this entry among one of the most boring ever, so I think I’ll stop soon. I have gone back to yoga, and am contemplating going this evening. Other than that, nothing to report, my husband is home this week on vacation which I am pissed about getting out of the warm bed and leaving the house to him calling, “hey honey have fun at work!” Right. I guess that serves me right for all the snow days I got off and gloated over when I worked in schools.
