Before I start complaining about the weather, let me say that I had a terrific weekend. So, I will detail it for you vis-a-vis le bullet:
- Friday night, we went to the 99. My husband is obsessed with the 99, so off we went. We didn’t really do a whole hell of a lot else, I had gone downtown for a bit after work on Friday after leaving early to get a manicure and a swap gift for the blog girls holiday brunch girls day out on Saturday morning. I should have, however, incorporated getting a birthday gift for my husband into that afternoon but alas, I did not.
- Saturday, I went to the gym in the morning and then hit the aforementioned brunch. What a fun time. We exchanged Yankee Swap gifts, chatted, drank, chatted, and chatted some more. I love Henrietta’s Table. It’s where we had our rehearsal dinner before the wedding, and it was nice to head back there on our 1 month anniversary (which is technically today!!!)
- Saturday afternoon, my husband and I just hung out, he worked, I read, then we got ready for his office holiday party at Mistral, which coincidentally is where our wedding was. It was so awesome to go to both places and just remember 1 month ago from that night was our wedding night. It was funny, too, that the bartender, waiter, and one of hostesses recognized us - they were like, “Oh! It’s Erin and Aaron! Congratulations, welcome back!” - so funny. What wasn’t funny was how much I drank due to the open bar. We took a cab there and also home of course, and I promptly passed out upon returning home. It’s funny that no matter how drunk I am, I always take out my contact lenses, brush my teeth, wash my face, and fold my clothes and put them away.
- Sunday, UGH, I had the biggest hangover ever. I woke up feeling sooo sick, I tried to drink some orange juice and take some advil and promptly threw up for about an hour. I fell back into bed and slept until noon. My sweet husband made me coffee and toast, after laughing at me of course, and then we layed real low for the rest of the day, and met my parents for dinner after their final Christmas shopping extravaganza. We did some shopping online yesterday and I’m finishing up tomorrow/Wednesday afternoon. Nothing like waiting till the last minute, huh?
Today? It is absolutely freezing out, and the walk to the T and to my office officially sucked. I’m so not looking forward to doing it again this afternoon. It’s my husband’s birthday, though, so I’m running out at lunch across the street to get the rest of the ingredients, I’m baking him a flourless chocolate cake and making his favorite chili for dinner. Then we’ll drink beer and watch Monday night football. Well, he’ll drink beer and I’ll drink wine, but even the thought of wine right now makes me a bit queasy.
Finally, BIG PROPS to Meg for totally on her own redesigning the site with the cutest design ever for Christmas! She said the girl at the top reminds her of me and I LOVE IT! Thanks, Megs, I really, really appreciate it ![]()
