Sunday afternoon and I’m winding down the weekend - and getting ready for my first official day at my new job. For those of you who emailed and commented - yes, of COURSE I have a new outfit all picked out. Come on now, was that even remotely a question? I actually have two picked out, and I think the final choice will be a game time decision, depending on how I feel when I wake up in the morning and also depending on how the morning goes trying to get the three of us organized.

Luckily, my mother babysits on Mondays, which is a nice way to ease into the week, no? That way, if all hell breaks loose with the baby (not likely) after I leave, my mom will be on her way over to fix it.

Let’s see. I’m full of nervous excitement about work, so I made a banana bread from scratch which is in the oven baking as we speak, to give me something to do with my hands. We three also went to Whole Foods this morning to do our grocery shopping for the week. Whoo boy, grocery shopping for the week is something I haven’t done in a while. While Charlotte napped this morning, I went through my recipes and picked out what to make this week and wrote up our grocery list. I felt like it was a decently efficient way to prepare for the week, and thank god for frozen vegetables. I’m debating buying another CSA share this year like I’ve done in the past, so at least come spring/summer, we’ll have fresh fruit and vegetables.

I’m most psyched about the salmon I’m cooking tonight. Mr. P is most psyched about the pork chops I agreed to make him later this week.

If you’re looking for a fun place to go for dinner, I heartily recommend that you check out the now-open, newly remodeled Rialto. Mr. P and I met our fab friends there last night for dinner and I was not disappointed. I got the orange-dusted scallops and even though I’m a red girl, I decided to go with a glass of chardonnay, figuring the scallops would be light, and they were. The wine didn’t disappoint, either. Mr. P had the duck and he chose a cabernet which was really nice, too. Anyway, I think you should check it out.

I finally finished my consulting work, writing that long-ass report, too. I emailed it out for feedback, which I got back this morning. One of the comments was “you make this look easy.” I like feedback like that.

I’ve got more to tell you, but I think my bread is done and Mr. P and Charlotte are playing upstairs. It kind of sounds like they’re having a bit too much fun so I want to go and join them. I’ll be back to tell you the saga of my broken cell phone (yes AGAIN) and the fancy new skinny phone with a big screen that I got after I broke the Sprint PCS guy’s spirit. It has a 1.3 megapixel camera in it and it came with an earpiece that I feel like a total jackass wearing, so I’ve been wearing it around the house to try and get used to it. Pictures to come.
